Silicone
Silicone is a loose fitting material that easily bends in your hands. When used in cases it provides a very loose fit where it can easily come off if you're trying to fish your phone out of your pocket or back pack.
Silicone also sticks to everything. It gets stuck your in pocket very easily and can become annoying. This stickiness also attracts lint and dust so you continually need to clean it off.
TPU
TPU is a tight fitting material that has very little give. It provides an amazing snug fit when used in a case.
It also does not stick so you can take it in and out of your pocket with ease.
